Tissue clearing protocols: an overview of current methods and approaches

Observation of complex cellular shapes in three-dimensional (3D) tissue context requires the use thick blocks samples, which are not transparent. To overcome this optical opacity, a specific set histological techniques have been developed and named clearing methods. Here we review major available protocols justify advantages particular protocol CUBIC over other methods imaging 3D reconstruction.
